E3Live is one of the few companies that offer the latest in Refractance Window Drying (RWD). This nutritionally superior drying technology uses a thin, infrared-transparent film to dry heat-sensitive materials like fruits, vegetables, and other food items.
Multiple studies have shown foods dried by Refractance Window Drying Technology® have a higher retention of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and antioxidants compared to those dried by more commonly practiced methods such as spray or freeze drying.
Refractance Window Drying works by transferring heat from circulating hot water beneath the film, essentially creating a "window" through which infrared radiation reaches the product and gently removes moisture from wet material, allowing for drying at relatively low temperatures while preserving sensitive nutrients, color and other quality attributes.
Refractance Window Drying operation
Your product is placed on a moving food-grade Mylar belt supported by computer-controlled hot water tables. Conduction drying occurs as heat from the hot water supporting the belt is transferred to the water in the material to be dried. The water within the product evaporates leaving a thin film of dried flakes. Material dried through this process is exposed to heat for only a brief moment, delivering a dried product close to its natural state.
RWD is the most superior method for preserving the precious nutrients and phytonutrients found in whole foods. In this process, important sensory qualities of the fresh whole food, such as color, aroma, taste and nutritional value are retained. This is an indicator that the active aromatic and pigment compounds that impart sensory and nutritionally invaluable properties have been preserved throughout the drying process.

Here are some benefits of using an RWD:
Retains nutritional value
RWD is a healthier process than other drying methods, like freeze-drying or spray-drying, as the dried product retains more of its nutritional properties.
Maintains color and flavor
RWD helps preserve the product's color, aroma, and antioxidant compounds.
Energy efficient
RWD is more energy efficient than other drying methods.
Fast drying
RWD can dry a product quickly. For example, a 2 mm thick layer of mango puree can be dried in 18 minutes using RWD.
Drying beets
RWD can be used to dry a variety of products, including:
• Fruits and vegetables
• Juices, slices, and purees
• Meat and poultry
• Fish
• Egg products
• Dairy products
• Cereals and grains
• Beverages and other food liquids
• Ingredients for pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food and cosmetic industries

Operating principles of the bowl
The bowl is designed for the clarification of liquids. Clarification means the centrifugal removal of solids from a liquid that has a lower density than the solids.
The product enters the bowl through the inlet and flows through the distributor into the disc set where the separation occurs. The disc set consists of a large number of conical discs placed one above the other. The liquid is distributed in the spaces between the discs, divided into thin layers. Since the layers of the liquid are very thin, the radial separation distance is extremely small. The solids collect on the top wall of each space and slide down into the sludge space.
Self Clarification Centrifuge (SC-35)
The clarified liquid flows towards the bowl center, enters the centripetal pump chamber, and is discharged from the bowl foam-free and under pressure through a centripetal pump.
The separated solids are ejected through ports at the bottom of the bowl.
The PLC Shot time setting initiates solid ejections.
The product is sealed off from contact with the outside air at the main centripetal pump through an additional disc immersed in the liquid.
Self Clarification Centrifuge operation
Reverse osmosis (RO) is a membrane process that can concentrate juices and other liquid products without the need for high temperatures. RO can improve the flavor and color of the juice, and it can also reduce the costs of storage, transportation, and distribution. Here are some benefits of using RO for orange juice:
Retains flavor: RO can retain the juice's flavor compounds, especially oil-soluble aromas.
Reduces thermal damage: RO is a low-temperature process that minimizes thermal damage to the juice.
Reduces energy costs: RO requires less energy than traditional concentration methods.
Improves color: RO can improve the color of the product.
Reduces packaging and distribution costs: RO reduces the bulk of the product, which can lower packaging and distribution costs.
Improves microbiological stability: RO can provide microbiological stability for the product.
RO works by using high operating pressures to overcome the juice's osmotic pressure. The type of membrane and operating conditions used during the process affect the retention of juice constituents and the permeate flux.
RO is often used as a first-stage process in combination with other processes, such as Refractance Window Drying.
