AFA is single-cell Aphanizomenon flos-aquae (Latin for invisible flower of the water). We are the harvesters of this wild-grown ancient strain of blue-green micro-algae – from the pristine waters of Upper Klamath Lake in Southern Oregon. AFA is a nutrient-dense aqua botanical with over 65 vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and essential fatty acids – as well as phytonutrients including phycocyanin and phenylethylamine.
Aphanizomenon flos-aquae is nature's most basic food. It exists at the beginning of the food chain, provides perfect nutrition, and contains more protein than other whole foods. Our AFA superfood provides rich naturally occurring Chlorophyll. Chlorophyll has been shown to enhance your entire health and boosts the immune system. The nutrients in AFA are bioavailable – easily assimilated and absorbed.
Primitive as algae may appear, most are highly efficient photosynthesizers, even more so than plants. Algae utilize light energy from the sun, carbon dioxide from the air, and hydrogen from the water to synthesize proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids. AFA grows only in the wild and is far superior to any other algae on the planet. It is nature's perfect food. AFA is unique among all food-grade algae in that it also metabolizes molecular nitrogen from the air to produce its proteins and other nitrogen-containing bio-molecules. The AFA cell is truly awe-inspiring. Although hundreds of times smaller than the cells of the plant or animal kingdoms, its wide range of sixty-five micro-nutrients is remarkable and unsurpassed by any known food. It should be no surprise that the nucleic acids of AFA also bio-stimulate the immune system.
The benefits of Apanizomenon flos-aquae are directly proportional to the quality and exact source of the algae. Unless you know the source of your AFA, there is no guarantee of quality. Our AFA is harvested from the deepest waters of Upper Klamath Lake under strict Quality Control and GMP guidelines – which yields the purest and most potent AFA available.
The nutrients in AFA may promote:
Our products are certified Organic, and Kosher we also have a Certificate of Free Sale and Health Certificates showing we are in compliance with the sanitary and health provisions of the Oregon Department of Agriculture laws and rules as they apply to food establishments, (GMPs).
CHLOROPHYLL
The Importance of Chlorophyll
Chlorophyll is a very important part of AFA. Its molecular structure is almost the same as that of hemoglobin, which is responsible for carrying it throughout the body. Oxygen is the prime nutrient, and Chlorophyll is the central molecule for increasing oxygen availability in your system. Chlorophyll is vital for the body's rapid assimilation of amino acids. AFA Algae is the highest-known source of Chlorophyll.

KLAMATH LAKE
Our AFA is wild-harvested from Upper Klamath Lake, a high desert lake (4100 ft), in Southern Oregon. The lake waters and its sediments have an astonishingly high mineral and trace element concentration due to a massive volcanic eruption that occurred from Mount Mazama over 7700 years ago. Crater Lake (to the north) is what is left of the eruption. This region is part of associated with "The Pacific Ring of Fire," a geologically active region that experiences large-scale volcanic, tectonic, and glacial events.
Upper Klamath Lake receives an average of 300 days of sunlight per year providing a perfect growing environment for the world's richest strain of wild AFA blue-green algae. The alkaline lake water provides more than 60 times the nutrients needed for the algae to grow to its full potential each year. Under the right conditions, AFA algae can reproduce every 20 minutes, which provides a plentiful abundance of this organic, high-life-force, miracle superfood.
